Seriously??? I mean, really?!?!?!?!

So I decided to do the eHarmony route... match.com was useless and annoying. I thought, hmmm, if a guy is willing to go through the LOOOOOONNNNNNNG process to get signed up, then maybe he will be more serious about knowing what he wants... right?

WRONG! I was actually told by eHarmony that there were no matches found... ANYWHERE in the world. A non-smoking, Christian, value-having man was NO WHERE to be found for me...



Seriously? Am I that hard to please? Am I that difficult? No wonder I am still single... I mean, I would like to think that the stupid thing was broken. I once used it years ago and found LOTS of guys. Of course, considering that I am still unmarried and never dated any of the ones I found... perhaps it was broken then too...

I think I want ice cream now.....

Girls' STAR reports

I just got mail from Tony where the district sent out the STAR results. These tests are the California Standard Tests that all students must take.

The girls did great. I was a little surprised at how well they did!

Cat maxed the score for Math (600 out of 600) and was advanced for English/Language Arts. Those were the only areas for her testing. I guess this is how she taught me about prime numbers last night. Somehow I managed to miss that in my math studies! She also reads at an 8th grade level!

Gabby was advanced on English/Language Arts, History, Social Science and Science. I guess this explains the college placement courses they put her in for high school. The only area she needs to improve is Math which was still above average. And yet they put her in college placement Math too! Of course her score was low in class becuase she was not doing her homework ;). She also reads at a 12th grade level.

I am so proud of my girls! I guess every mom knows their kids but I love when they give me pleasant surprises!

Dinner has been cancelled

In an effort to get the Vegas trip squared away and plans completed for Palm Springs I cancelled the dinner reservations at Terra Rosa at the Red Rock Casino. I think I almost cried ;)

Now to get the last of PS scheduled. Hopefully it will be an uneventful trip outside of what we are planning. Any ideas are welcome as we will be there from Friday, August 28th through Sunday, August 30th. Let me know if there is something we "MUST" do while down there...

Life is grand....

I have to say, the last few days have been tumultuous and difficult but as always, there is a summit. Even to Everest! I find myself thinking I should have handled things better, should have been more patient, should have been more understanding... as mom says (genius that she is!) STOP SHOULD'ing YOURSELF!!! Shoulda, coulda, woulda.... if I hadn't I wouldn't have known and I never would have been able to continue down the path I was on. I came to a cross roads and decided to stop instead of continuing on. And guess what I found??? Another path! Yes folks, another way to go.

I have written my last email and had my last discussion on the subject and I feel good about it. So I didn't get the prince in the end but at least I know that kissing the frog was worth it. I don't have to be afraid of being honest and getting hurt... it doesn't kill me. Stronger? maybe, we will have to see how that turns out. Until all of this is fully in the past I am just thankful that I have honesty, truth, love, and learning to thank for where I am today. I truly do have a perfect life and even if there are things I would like to change... I know that it is still perfect. I have a loving and beautiful family and wonderful, supportive friends. To everyone who has been dealing with me lately... I am sorry and so thankful. You truly are what keeps me going!

Another day down...

As some of you might know, I have recently had my heartbroken by a wonderful guy. I know what you are thinking, if he was so wonderful, why did he break your heart? Well, because he was wonderful. And honest, and everything else. He didn't lead me on and tell me things might work out between us, he didn't try to keep things going knowing that he didn't have feelings for me... he was, well wonderful. He told me he couldn't give me what I wanted and that it wasn't fair to keep me from being happy. I, of course, had hoped for a different answer but at least he knows now that I care.

Either way, I tried to get out there after my last relationship and I did. I put myself out there to be loved, and well, it may not have worked this time, but it might the next. Or not, who knows.... Nothing that should stop me from trying anyway.

I have a large group of great friends who have been with me through the last few years and have seen my horrible ups and downs. And they still console me, they still support me, and they still love me. As silly as I may be, they love me. But then people love those hideous Chinese Crested looking hairless dogs so who knows what that really might mean ;)

I'll still be friends with him because I admire him, I adore him, and I want him. Even if I don't always get what I want, I can still learn from him too....

So here is to the broken hearted... hey, at least we tried!

So keep your chin (or chins as my Aunt D likes to tease) up people... you WILL find someone to love you the way you love them!
